Alex Balog - Montana State University

Alex Balog is in his seventh year with the MSUB men’s soccer program and fifth year as head coach in 2017-18. Balog was named the 2017 GNAC co-Coach of the Year after leading the team to wins over the top-three schools in the league and finishing in fourth place at 6-6 in conference play. He holds a BA in social sciences from HIRL in Belgium and has completed two Master's degrees. He holds a Master of Education from Christian Brothers University and a Master of International Relations from Auburn University Montgomery. Balog holds several NSCAA and USSF coaching licenses, including the NSCAA Premier Diploma, NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma, and NSCAA Level III Goalkeeping Diploma.

Kevin Lindo - Vancouver Island University

Lindo has been coaching for 17 years and has over 20 years of playing experience. After working as a Football Development Officer for the English Football Association, Kevin became a Professional Youth Development Coach for the Major League Soccer franchise New York Red Bulls. This became a stepping stone for him in the MLS as he is now the Island Head Coach for Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Kevin is a Learner Facilitator for BC Soccer and the National Coach Certification Program (NCCP). Holding both a Provincial B and Canada Soccer B Licence Kevin just completed the first stage of his UEFA B training.

Tom McManus - University of Alberta Augustana

Head Coach, Tom McManus, brings widespread experience in coaching high-performance soccer - including working with the National (Women’s) Soccer Team, McMaster University, the Winnipeg Fury of the Canadian Soccer League, and most recently at Thompson Rivers University. He has both CCAA and CIS experience. McManus was honoured with three Coach of the Year Awards in PacWest and took his team to playoffs in their second year of competition in the CIS. Additional honours include an induction into the Manitoba Hall of Fame for coaching the Winnipeg Fury to the Mita Cup Championship.

John Talerico - Southern Alberta Institute of Technology

The 2017/18 season will be John Talerico’s third as head coach of the SAIT Trojans women’s soccer team. He had previously assisted former head coach Grant Stevens with the men’s team for the past seven years, as well as with the women’s team for the past four.
Talerico got his start in coaching over 20 years ago in Sherwood Park, Alta., and has since helped out at various levels from minor to men’s and women’s leagues, and also with the Alberta Soccer Association All-Stars.
The graduate of SAIT (Industrial Electronics, 1980) excelled as a player, being named the Juventus Sports Club Most Valuable Player in 1974, 1975 and 1981. Since 2008, he has served as vice-president of the same Juventus Sports Club.

Chris Morgan - Grand Prarie Regional College

Coach Chris has quickly become a community leader in Grande Prairie Soccer and we are very privileged to have him as our program as Head Soccer Coach. Chris is originally from Belfast, Ireland and has been the Senior Soccer Director in Fort St. John for the last two years. Coach Chris holds both CSA National “B” and UEFA “B” Licenses. Along with being our soccer coach, Chris is the Head Coach for both the Men’s and Women’s soccer teams at the GPRC, where he led his Women’s team to the National Championships in 2017.

Our campus offers easy access to world-class skiing, mountain biking, hiking and water sports.  Soccer teams play at Hillside Stadium, an artificial turn field with seating for 1,060 people. All athletes can use TCC workout rooms, indoor track and swimming pool.

Macky Singh - Keyano College

Singh moved to Canada from New Zealand in December 2007, to work for Soccer New Brunswick as their Regional Technical Director. While working for Soccer New Brunswick, Macky was hired as the Head Coach of the Women’s Soccer team at St. Thomas University for five years from 2009 - 2014. He led the STU Tommies to two consecutive ACAA Women’s Soccer Championship berths in 2012 and 2013, with 2012 being the first time in ten years. Macky coached two CCAA Academic All-Canadians, ten CCAA National All Scholar Award, one ACAA Rookie of the Year and twelve ACAA 1st Team and 2nd Team All-Conference student-athletes. Macky compiled a 17-5-35 record.

Macky holds a Canadian Soccer National B Coach License, New Zealand Football National Academy Coaching License, FIFA Futuro III Instructors Course and NCCP Competition Development (Level III). Macky has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Coaching and a Diploma in Sports Psychology.
